Career Knowledge Snippets: An Introduction
Where it all began
When I started my Administrative career, I felt overwhelmed with all the on-the-job knowledge that I learned each day.
I started writing everything in a notebook and collating it into chunks of readable, doable, actionable information.
I named it Shana Ontong’s Career Knowledge Snippets (SOCKS) and I frequently shared it with anyone who would listen!
My aim was that my ‘career lesson notes’ would be quick reads, so it could be usable and succinct.
Through the years, that one notefile grew into many and those files became my personal little learning series.
I continually updated the information to suit the exciting and ever-changing Administrative Industry.
But what always remained constant was the original and intended core purpose: readable, doable, easily accessible, actionable chunks of information.
I actively drew upon and referred to these notes and files throughout my career. The practical knowledge I gleaned from it through the years was invaluable to my success as an Administrative Professional.
I am honoured to share with you the first in the Career Knowledge Snippets Series.
This was one of the first snippets series that I ever shared, and it remains the most popular.
It is intentionally written to be practically applied in your career and work-life.
I hope that you find it helpful, and that you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Over the next 5 weeks, I will be publishing each set of the series
“5 Personal Actions that helped me to deal with Challenging Tasks in my Career”.
Look out for all 5 Snippets, as each one builds on the next.
And remember to keep an eye out for the conclusion snippet at the end of the series, as it will help you to put it all together.
Here’s to your amazing Career in the Administrative Profession.
Have an Admintastic day,
Shana
